What you need
- A Plus or Pro subscription
- SnelStart inZicht or inControle
With the connection, every invoice you send becomes a sales booking in SnelStart. What your customer pays shows up in meetpiloot. Read Connect your accounting package first to see how connecting and booking fit together.
Connecting
Create a connection key in SnelStart Web.
Sign in to SnelStart Web in the administration you want to connect. Go to Koppelingen, choose Maatwerk and create a connection key (koppelingssleutel). Copy it. A connection key is only available in the inZicht and inControle plans.
Paste the key into meetpiloot.
Go to IntegrationsAccountingSnelStart, paste the key under Connection key and click Connect SnelStart. meetpiloot checks the key with SnelStart straight away and stores it encrypted.
Check the settings.
Pick the revenue account, the VAT type for each rate and how a customer ends up as a relation in SnelStart. Ask your accountant to look along.
Switch booking on.
Choose Automatically on sending or Book yourself, and from which date invoices are included.
If SnelStart does not recognise the key, you see that straight away. Copy it again from SnelStart Web, without spaces.
VAT types
SnelStart does not use its own VAT codes per administration, but fixed VAT types: Hoog, Laag, Geen and Overig. On the first connect, meetpiloot fills in 21% as Hoog, 9% as Laag and 0% as Geen. Check them, and pick the type yourself for any other rate you invoice at. An invoice with a rate that has no VAT type is not booked: the invoice shows that the choice is missing.
If an invoice has lines at different rates, each line gets its own VAT type in SnelStart. The VAT per type is exactly the VAT per rate on your invoice, so the total in SnelStart matches your invoice to the cent.
Revenue per VAT rate
Does your accountant book revenue per rate on its own ledger account, for example 8000 for 21%, 8010 for 9% and 8020 for 0%? Then pick the revenue account for each rate under the VAT types, in Revenue per VAT rate. That way your VAT return reconciles per account. If you leave Same as above, that rate goes to the revenue account you pick at the top, as always. A deposit deducted on the final invoice goes to the account of its own rate. You can only pick an account for a rate that has a VAT type, and the list only shows active revenue accounts from SnelStart.
Customers
You choose whether meetpiloot first looks for an existing relation by email address, or always creates a new one. If SnelStart has two relations with the same email address, meetpiloot asks you.
A new relation goes into SnelStart as a Klant (customer), with name, email address and phone number. We add a Dutch address when we can read the street, postcode and town with certainty. Your accountant fills in an address abroad. SnelStart does not send your customer an invoice through this relation: you do that from meetpiloot. The relation's memo says meetpiloot created it, so we find it again on the next invoice and never create a second one.
What goes into SnelStart
- Invoices become a sales booking with your invoice number, one booking line per invoice line (excluding VAT) and the VAT per VAT type. SnelStart does not create its own invoice: your customer only gets the invoice from meetpiloot.
- Credit notes become a sales booking with negative amounts. The description says which invoice it belongs to, for example
Creditnota C-2026-0003 bij factuur F-2026-0024. - Deposit invoices become a sales booking of their own. The final invoice has a deduction line for each deposit invoice, at the same VAT rate as the deposit invoice. More in Deposit invoice for a down payment.
After booking, meetpiloot reads the total back from SnelStart. If it differs from your invoice, the invoice shows Check, with the difference.
Your invoice PDF does not go to SnelStart. If you want it there, add it yourself.
Invoice number already exists
Before every booking, meetpiloot checks whether your invoice number is already in SnelStart. If SnelStart answers while booking that the invoice number already exists, we look again too. If it is a booking from meetpiloot itself, with the same amount, the same customer and the same date, we link it to your invoice. That way the same invoice never goes in twice. If SnelStart cannot show that booking yet, we try again later and book nothing twice.
If the number belongs to another document, for example an invoice you once made in SnelStart yourself, we book nothing. The invoice shows that SnelStart already has another document with this number. Change the numbering in SnelStart or in meetpiloot, or book the invoice by hand.
Payments
SnelStart does not report payments to meetpiloot. Every 15 minutes, meetpiloot checks how much is still open in SnelStart on your booked invoices. If it went down, you see the difference in meetpiloot as a payment. A partial payment counts too. If your customer pays a deposit invoice, you see it as a deposit.
A lower open amount does not always mean money came in. An invoice can also go down in SnelStart through a journal entry (a write-off) or a credit note your accountant makes there. So as soon as SnelStart shows more paid than meetpiloot already knows, meetpiloot checks which bookings on that invoice sit in a cash or bank journal. Only that amount shows in meetpiloot as a payment. meetpiloot never marks the rest as paid automatically: the invoice shows Check, with the amount settled in SnelStart without money. If SnelStart cannot show us which payment belongs to the invoice, it also shows Check and nothing is marked paid. Then look it up in SnelStart. If an invoice was lowered in SnelStart, the invoice shows the difference from yours, and no payment.
Switch on Book payments from meetpiloot in SnelStart to also book the payments you record in meetpiloot in SnelStart. Those are payments via Mollie, deposits and invoices you mark as paid by hand. Under Book payments in, pick a cash or bank journal. That choice is required. In a cash journal each payment becomes a cash booking on the invoice, in a bank journal a bank booking. A separate cash journal for Mollie keeps the bank clean.
meetpiloot never books more than is still open in SnelStart. Every cash or bank booking carries a meetpiloot reference, so the same payment never goes in twice. If SnelStart cannot show us whether that booking is already there, we book nothing and try again later. The invoice then shows Check. If you remove a payment in meetpiloot, we remove the cash or bank booking in SnelStart too. meetpiloot does not book refunds on a credit note in SnelStart.
Booking and reading payments in SnelStart is new, and not yet checked in a real SnelStart administration. Switch it on with one payment first and check with your accountant that the booking sits on the invoice correctly and that meetpiloot sees it as a payment, before you book the rest of your payments with it.
A booking deleted in SnelStart
If a meetpiloot invoice is deleted in SnelStart, meetpiloot notices at the next check. The invoice is then no longer booked, and it shows that it was deleted in SnelStart. meetpiloot never marks it as paid. If it does belong there, choose Send to SnelStart again: meetpiloot books it once more.
If an invoice really has to go, make a credit note in meetpiloot. It goes to SnelStart automatically. To remove a cash or bank booking meetpiloot made, remove the payment in meetpiloot.
Switching administration
meetpiloot remembers which administration you connected. A connection key belongs to one administration. If you paste a key for another administration under Paste a new key while meetpiloot invoices are already booked there, meetpiloot refuses it. That way bookings and payments never end up in the wrong administration.
If you really want to switch, disconnect deliberately first and then connect with the key of the new administration. What is already booked stays in the old administration. The contacts, accounts and journals of the old administration leave meetpiloot, booking and booking payments are off, and only invoices from today are included. Pick the revenue account, the revenue per VAT rate and the cash or bank journal again, have your accountant look along, and then switch booking back on.
If meetpiloot cannot read which administration it is while connecting, nothing is saved or changed. Try again in a few minutes. An older connection whose administration meetpiloot does not know yet only books again once you reconnect.
What the connection does not book
- Invoices in a currency other than the euro. Through the connection, SnelStart only books in euros.
- Your invoice PDF.
- Refunds on a credit note.
Disconnecting
If you disconnect, new invoices no longer go to SnelStart and meetpiloot no longer sees payments. What is already booked stays in SnelStart. meetpiloot forgets the key. You delete the key itself in SnelStart Web under Koppelingen.
