Connect e-Boekhouden
Every invoice you send becomes a booking in e-Boekhouden, and what your customer pays shows up in meetpiloot. Here is how to connect e-Boekhouden.

What you need
- A Plus or Pro subscription
- An e-Boekhouden administration
With the connection, every invoice you send becomes a booking in e-Boekhouden. What your customer pays shows up in meetpiloot. Read Connect your accounting package first to see how connecting and booking fit together.
Connecting
Create an API token in e-Boekhouden.
Log in to the administration you want to connect. Go to Beheer, Inrichting and Koppelingen, choose API and create a token. Copy it straight away: e-Boekhouden shows it only once.
Paste the token in meetpiloot.
Go to IntegrationsAccountinge-Boekhouden, paste the token and click Connect e-Boekhouden.
Check the settings.
Choose the debtors account, the revenue account and a VAT code for each VAT rate. Ask your accountant to check them with you.
Switch booking on.
Choose Automatically when sent or Book yourself, and from which date invoices go across.
VAT codes
meetpiloot fills in the obvious codes for your company's country. In the Netherlands that is 21% and 9%, in Belgium 21%, 12% and 6%. For 0% we fill in nothing: choose the code that fits yourself.
You can only switch booking on once the country checks out. meetpiloot looks at the country and the VAT number under company details: the VAT number has to belong to that country and be known to VIES. If VIES cannot be reached for a moment, the country of your VAT number is enough. meetpiloot also asks e-Boekhouden which VAT codes your administration accepts, without booking anything. If something does not match, you see what to change under company details.
If you later change the country or the VAT number, or it no longer checks out, booking pauses. The invoices wait, you see the reason under Integrations, and as soon as the company details are right again, booking resumes automatically.
meetpiloot does not book reverse-charge VAT, intra-EU supplies or exports. An invoice like that gets a notice, and you book it yourself in e-Boekhouden. That way an invoice without VAT never ends up under the wrong code in your VAT return.
Revenue per VAT rate
Does your accountant book revenue per rate on its own account, for example 8000 for 21%, 8010 for 9% and 8020 for 0%? Then pick the revenue account for each rate under the VAT codes, at Revenue per VAT rate. Your VAT return then reconciles per account. If you leave Same as above, that rate goes to the revenue account you pick at the top, as before. A deposit deducted on the final invoice goes to the account of its own rate. You can only pick an account for a rate that has a VAT code, and the list only shows revenue accounts.
Customers
If your customer has a VAT or Chamber of Commerce number, the relation in e-Boekhouden becomes a Bedrijf (business) with those numbers. Otherwise it becomes a Particulier (private person). A customer with the same email address who is already in e-Boekhouden is reused.
The description
e-Boekhouden keeps one description per booking and puts it on every line too. So it starts with your invoice number, followed by a short list of what is on the invoice, for example F-2026-0024 · Veranda 4x3 · Montage · Af: Voorschotfactuur V-2026-0003.
The PDF
The e-Boekhouden API cannot attach a file to a booking, so the PDF of your invoice does not go across. If you want it in e-Boekhouden, add it there yourself.
Payments
Every 15 minutes meetpiloot checks in e-Boekhouden what has been paid on your invoices. An invoice only shows as paid in meetpiloot when e-Boekhouden shows real money: an invoice payment on a bank or cash account.
If an invoice was written off in e-Boekhouden with a journal entry, or its amount was lowered there, the invoice shows Check. meetpiloot never marks such an invoice as paid automatically. You also see Check when e-Boekhouden does not show which payment belongs to this invoice. Check it in e-Boekhouden then.
If an invoice was deleted in e-Boekhouden, you see that on the invoice. If it belongs there, choose Try again: meetpiloot books it again.
Switch on Book payments from meetpiloot in e-Boekhouden to book the payments you record in meetpiloot in e-Boekhouden too. Those are Mollie payments, deposits and invoices you mark as paid by hand. Choose a bank or cash account, or a clearing account for Mollie. Every payment's description carries a meetpiloot reference, so the same payment never goes in twice.
meetpiloot does not book refunds on a credit note in e-Boekhouden. If you remove a payment in meetpiloot, remove it in e-Boekhouden yourself. Both show a notice.
Notices
- Period closed: the invoice date falls in a period that is closed in e-Boekhouden. Ask your accountant to open it, or book the invoice yourself.
- e-Boekhouden subscription: e-Boekhouden blocks bookings until an outstanding bill is paid.
- Trial limit: a trial administration has a maximum number of bookings. Take a subscription to carry on.
- If e-Boekhouden refuses anything else, the invoice shows e-Boekhouden's own message.
Switching administration
meetpiloot remembers which administration you connected. If you reconnect with a token for another administration while meetpiloot invoices are already in it, meetpiloot refuses. That way bookings and payments never end up in the wrong administration.
If you really want to switch, disconnect deliberately first, then connect with the token of the new administration. What is already booked stays in the old administration. Booking is off afterwards: choose the accounts and VAT codes of the new administration and switch booking back on.
If meetpiloot cannot read which administration it is while connecting, nothing is saved or changed. Try again in a few minutes. An older connection whose administration meetpiloot does not know yet only books again once it is known. That happens automatically when you save the settings with booking on, or when you reconnect.
Disconnecting
If you disconnect, new invoices no longer go to e-Boekhouden and meetpiloot no longer sees payments. What is already booked stays in e-Boekhouden. You remove the token itself in e-Boekhouden under Koppelingen.
